Pop-Ups on the Bay is an initiative of the City of Belleville to enhance recreational and economic activity on the city’s waterfront, while enjoying Belleville’s trails and parks.
This year Pop-ups on the Bay has been infused with murals to showcase the amazing talent that exists in the region. A total of fourteen local artists were selected through a submission process to bring their designs to life, creating a space for artistic expression and celebration. June,2021
My mural “Puentes” is a colourful representation of the city of Belleville and its beautiful bridges; not only the rainbow arched ones but also the bridges that connect you with the people in this beautiful and friendly city.
In an effort to bring community together and add colour and vibrancy to the downtown core, a group of local artists were selected to paint a total of eight tête-à-têtes - Adirondack-inspired chairs joined together by a table and equipped with large umbrellas for shade.
The tête-à-têtes create a vibrant, welcoming safe community space for business owners, residents and visitors alike. They are perfect for enjoying take-out with a friend, taking shelter from the sun, or simply watching the world go by. They are placed along the sidewalks in the downtown core for Al Fresco season, from the beginning of June to the end of August, 2021.
maría led the design of a large-scale community parklet project for downtown Belleville. Using her unique style, she collaborated with other local artists to create bright, impactful statements for outdoor spaces to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. June, 2020
